Dear foursquare,

Your search field is a load of shit.

Yeah, I get it, you want to search things near me by default. I get that.

What I don’t get is that when there is stuff that is pretty unambiguously not near me, like Chicago O’Hare Airport which is in Chicago last time I checked, you don’t just go “oh, he typed the name of an unambiguous place, let’s just take him there”.

Or here’s another great thing. During trip planning for Japan, I’ve been looking stuff up on foursquare nonstop, and typing stuff directly into your search bar yields no results. Maybe, just maybe, that should be your cue to expand the scope of the search until you find something.
